Experience the Difference!

Introducing Endless Mountains Chiropractor Dr. Lisa Ciavola

My family and friends all thought I had lost my mind when I explained that I had decided to pursue a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. After all it had been some time since I had even graced the halls of an institution of higher learning. But . . . chiropractic? What was that? And, um, how do you even spell it?

Well, that was to be expected as this was not a decision of my own, but rather a calling of a higher order. I had been earnestly seeking for direction in a world of uncertainty. With some very important people’s lives being cut short around me, I was compelled to search for some answers. What does all this mean and how does it all fit into the meaning of life? My heart desired to reach out to people who had a real need. I longed to make a meaningful difference in this world. I wanted to know that I was doing what I was designed to do and I didn’t want to waste another precious moment.

And so the Lord answered that prayer with Chiropractic. At first I was even stunned. After all, I had a college degree and a fascinating career in the textile field. Having graduated from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science (now Philadelphia University) in 1982 with a BS in Textile Engineering, my primary work was in the defense industry involved in engineering and design of special protective gear for our military pilots. Work also included government contract work that spanned the gamut from designing and fabricating clean rooms to postal mailbags. The apparel industry was varied and complex as work involved the testing and specifications of finished fabrics and finishes, garment construction and care labeling.

And now I was about to change direction and enter the field of Chiropractic. But chiropractic might not have been such a far flung inspiration after all. My personal interests had always led me to devour books on health, nutrition and the human frame. I was introduced to chiropractic and learned of its philosophy and the innate or in-born health potential that the human body harnessed. This could only be accomplished by releasing any blockages or interference in the nervous system. That way the body was free to heal itself! My whole being said WOW! It was awe-inspiring. And it felt as if everything was falling right into place.

I would attend Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina and graduated Magna Cum Laude with my Doctorate in Chiropractic in March of 2003.

While the college presents various techniques, I chose to focus my study on the Gonstead methodology of Chiropractic; named after Dr. Clarence S. Gonstead. Being involved with the Gonstead Study Club on campus, and attending workshops and seminars allowed for a more in-depth study of the methods of examination, including static and motion palpation; x-ray analysis; and, the implementation of the specific adjustment.

After graduation, I was granted licensures in both North Carolina and Pennsylvania. I spent two years in North Carolina associated with some of the Gonstead System of Chiropractic’s most skilled caregivers. I returned home to Pennsylvania and opened Endless Mountains Chiropractic Clinic in the fall of 2005. I feel privileged to be able to offer the Gonstead system of analysis and correction to my patients today and to share my passion for Chiropractic Health with all of you.

My husband and I now reside in Jackson, PA after selling our Clifford Township home of 25 years. Interior design has always been an interest of mine as well as needlework, and ceramics. I also enjoy square-dancing and bee-keeping.

Enough about me! How can we help you with today’s safe and natural chiropractic care? Give us a call so we can help you take your first step towards better health and receive the fullness of all Chiropractic has to offer.

P.S. There are two websites that further explain the difference that the Gonstead methodology makes: www.gonsteadseminar.com and www.gonstead.com. In the profession, Gonstead Chiropractic is considered the most effective and safest method of chiropractic.
